Adjusting to the economy----- eating habits of a poor student like me!
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

We are practically living from mouth to mouth, eventhough, some of our rich folks might say otherwise, but if you are not hit by the high cost of oil (petrol) and the effect on the food prices, then you are not on this earth or deifnitely not living in the urban areas. Even, people that are in the rural areas have been hit by the hard times too, and I wish all this speculative activities on the oil price will come to an end. If only that is possible, because no one believes that it shall be so!!
Garri, is no common man's fave dish, but a rich man's food! why? well, as long as the poor masses continue to suffer and wait for manna from the government, the poor shall become poorer.

Even in Malaysia, things are not easy at all, infact, I see students buying only white rice with curry soup without chicken or beef or fish! to buy chicken and rice, it costs RM4.50 or fried fish and rice, talkless of taking fried fish, fried eggs, veggies and white rice or if you buy from the mamak shop, briani rice, you must be willing to spend RM10 (equiv. to $2.50) for a set of meal. and drink water for dinner!
I have resolved to change my eating habits, 1-1-0 or 0-1-1 or 1-0-1 or 0-0-1 ALTHOUGH the latter is not possible at all, except if i am fasting.

-----------just my opinion on today's economy------------

Oprah Winfrey goes VEGAN.....
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

... and the world turns green!!!
I am not a fan of veggie living but I do love my greens and indulge in eating fruits and veggies everyday but notwithstanding, going vegan is not my cup of tea. Why would I stop eat beef, lamb or chicken and eat bran, legumes, broccoli, et cetera?! It is okie if you love being a vegan because I do know of some people that cant withstand meat or anything that isn't plant-based. But for everyone else, we love to chew on meat or fish or egg.....milk.....can't take that away, no way!!! I love soya or soy-based food, but I still love the rich taste of pasteurized milk like a baby!!!

However, Oprah's motive was based on reducing the greenhouse effect by going vegan and also detoxing her whole body system.... I believe for 21 days, as seen on CNN. She is an interesting woman and I do love her shows, but lets see how the Vegan journey will take her....maybe I might start too, so as to detox my body..... if possible!

It really doesn't matter, going vegan, or simply eating healthy, as long as you are able to stand the high food prices and increasing cost of living....we are all still having an impact on the ecosystem.

My first blog of the year!
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Someone once asked me when I was returning to the blogosphere and I remembered laughing out because I was tired of blogging about me, myself and I all the time!!! It was boring and self-centered for me to do that again.
However, having realized that I haven't been keeping up with TIG, I am planning on attending the TIG Open Forum on technology by Nick Yeo who invited me by email.

I hope to continue blogging and hope not to quit soon, but likewise, I would love to be more involved with what is happening around me.

The increase in food price has made me realized that we need to go back to basic - AGRICULTURE!
I still remember walking over to the nearby farm at my house and harvesting some maize, okra, vegetables et cetera.....and eating healthy even though I couldn't care less. Nowadays , I love checking my weight and looking at the mirror and watching what I indulge in....

Will the increase in fuel price increase the rising food prices?
we can never know....
When CNN was reporting about the wheat farmers dilemma and the cost of growing it, I thought it was all a joke, now nobody is laughing anymore.....
